Terms of Service

Last updated: August 19, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of this website and any dog training services provided by Balancing Paws Dog Training LLC (“Balancing Paws,” “we,” “us”), located in Phoenix, Arizona. By booking a consultation, enrolling in a program, or using this site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Services

We offer dog training services, which may include private training, board & train, group classes, and virtual coaching. Specific program scope, duration, and pricing are described in the written agreement, invoice, or program materials you receive when you enroll. Those documents control if anything conflicts with this page.

2. No Guarantee of Results

Dogs are living animals. Training outcomes depend on genetics, health, history, environment, and — most of all — the owner’s consistency in following the plan after training ends. We do not guarantee any specific behavioral result, timeline, or elimination of any behavior, including aggression, reactivity, anxiety, or bite risk. Nothing on this site is a promise of a particular outcome.

3. Owner Responsibilities

You represent and agree that:

  • You are the legal owner of the dog, or are authorized to make decisions for it.
  • You have disclosed the dog’s complete known history, including any bite history, aggression, resource guarding, illness, injury, or behavioral medication.
  • Your dog is current on vaccinations as required for the program, and proof may be requested.
  • Your dog is free of contagious illness and parasites at drop-off or session time.
  • You will follow safety instructions and homework given by your trainer.

Withholding a bite or aggression history may result in immediate removal from the program without refund.

4. Health, Veterinary Care & Emergencies

We are not veterinarians and do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. If your dog becomes ill or injured while in our care, we will attempt to contact you. If we cannot reach you promptly, you authorize us to seek veterinary care at your expense, and you agree to reimburse all resulting costs.

5. Assumption of Risk & Liability

Working with dogs carries inherent risk, including bites, scratches, escapes, injury, illness, and property damage. You knowingly assume those risks for yourself, your family, and your guests. To the maximum extent permitted by Arizona law, Balancing Paws’ total liability arising out of the services is limited to the amount you paid for the program at issue, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

You remain legally responsible for your dog’s behavior at all times, including after training ends, and you agree to indemnify Balancing Paws against claims arising from your dog’s conduct outside our direct supervision.

6. Payment, Deposits & Cancellations

Program fees, deposits, and payment schedules are stated in your enrollment agreement or invoice. Deposits reserve your spot and are generally non-refundable. Sessions cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full. Late pickup from board & train may incur additional daily boarding fees.

Refunds after a program begins are at our discretion and are not provided for missed sessions, failure to follow the plan, or dissatisfaction with results.

7. Termination

We may decline, pause, or end services at any time if we believe continuing is unsafe for the dog, our team, or the public, or if these Terms are violated. Where we end services for safety reasons, we may refund the unused, unearned portion of prepaid fees at our discretion.

8. Photos & Media

Unless you tell us otherwise in writing, you grant us permission to use photos and video of your dog taken during training for educational and marketing purposes. You may withdraw this permission at any time by contacting us; we will stop future use, though previously published material may remain in circulation.

9. Website Use & Intellectual Property

The content on this site — text, images, training frameworks, and materials — belongs to Balancing Paws and may not be copied, resold, or redistributed without permission. Forms submitted through this site are used to contact you about training; do not submit sensitive personal information through them.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version, and continued use of our services means you accept the updated Terms.
